Michael “Skillzilla” Ferguson is a tall, black man, all too aware that his size makes him particularly vulnerable in America. His writing and scholarship focuses on racial and social injustice, and nerd stuff. If Michael isn’t writing, then he’s sitting at home with his wife, Dr. Sandy Ho, and watching trash television, reading comics, or playing videogames. He is currently working on obtaining his MA in English at CSU Pueblo and hopes one day to be the Black professor for students who look like him that Michael never had. This semester, he’ll be teaching a Rhetoric and Writing course with the goal of centering the class around the voices of Black and other marginalized communities and scholars. Michael is always open to talk about Poetry, Comics, and Naruto. Feel free to ask him about any of these things if you see him at an open mic.
