Becoming // Poetry

POETRY. DRINKS. MUSIC.

In celebration of Arts Month 2022, Becoming // Poetry will host an evening of poetry, drinks, and music in the Hagnauer Gallery at the Manitou Art Center (MAC) on the evening of Wednesday, October 19.

The fun begins at 5PM with a poetry workshop entitled SPONTANEOUS OVERFLOW, where Peyton and Katie will cover writing techniques and offer guidance on how to write a spontaneous poem.

During the second half of the evening, the Becoming // Poetry poets will offer custom typewriter poetry while guests enjoy drinks at the bar, live music, and several art exhibitions at the MAC. We hope that this night leaves you with a pocketful of poetry and heart full of motivation to follow the muse wherever it leads.

Event Schedule:

  • 5:00-6:00PM: Poetry Workshop
  • 6:00-7:30PM: Custom Poetry + Drinks + Jams
  • 7:30-8:00PM: Close with brief poetry readings + mini open mic!

Swing through or stay for the whole night! For questions, email Becoming // Poetry at becoming.poetry@gmail.com.
