EPIC Concerts

Guest Artist Series

In celebration of Arts Month 2021, EPIC (Educational Partnerships Immersive Experience) is pleased to present violinist Ariel Horowitz on Friday, October 15 at 7PM at the Almagre Venue. This concert is part of EPIC’s Guest Artist Series, and will also feature Yukino Miyake on piano, and Sergei Vassiliev clarinet. The evening’s program will include Jessie Montgomery Rhapsody #1, Johannes Brahms Violin Sonata in G, Paul Schoenfeld Trio for Violin, Clarinet and Piano, and Piotr Iliych Tchaikovsky Waltz-Scherzo.

During the first few isolating months of the pandemic, EPIC decided that we needed to bring necessary healing to the community in form of ‘socially distanced with health measures in overdrive’ live concerts. This is how EPIC Community Concerts were born. We had to be very maneuverable and sensitive to the ever changing factors like the weather and health restrictions in order to pull off these events. But we managed and the rewards were more than we could imagine!

We put on unique concerts that you can’t see anywhere else in Colorado Springs. We combine classical music with other genres and art forms to produce a strong visual and interactive component to the performances. We make the best music immersive and accessible to everyone. Our tag line is We will NOT be another “stuffy” classical music series.

By involving national-level masters in collaboration with local stars and partnering with arts and educational institutions, EPIC brings out the best in innovative fine arts performance and propels our community to national prominence.

In October of 2020, Ariel Horowitz won the Concert Artists Guild Ambassador Prize and joined the Concert Artists Guild roster. A recent graduate of the Yale School of Music under the tutelage of Ani Kavafian, Ariel previously studied with Itzhak Perlman and Catherine Cho at The Juilliard School. Ariel is a prizewinner of the Grumiaux, Stulberg, and Klein International Competitions as well as the Salon De Virtuosi Career Grant. Ariel is the second guest artist of three in the series this fall.
