Golden Lotus Foundation presents...

In celebration of Arts Month 2022, the Golden Lotus Foundation is inviting community members to participate in a series of events and activities designed to showcase Asian art and culture. Since 2011, the Golden Lotus Foundation has worked to catalyze a lively local scene centered around the experience of Asian art and cultural traditions, primarily from China, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Vietnam, and India. Raku-Japanese Pottery

Visit Hunter-Wolff Gallery during October 2-8 to view Raku pottery art pieces by local artists Tony Heslop, Marc Jenesel, and Mark Wong. Raku is a Japanese style ceramic ware made during the 16th century in Kyoto, Japan. The practice is characterized by the removal of the clay object from the kiln at the height of the firing and causing it to cool very rapidly. Raku ware was originally created for tea ceremonies. On-Site Oil Painting Demonstrations

Wednesday & Thursday, October 5 and 6, 10AM-3PM

Golden Lotus Foundation will present 8 local artists demonstrating oil paintings at Stratton Park/Asian Heritage Center. There will be an art show displaying their art pieces in the community room. No pets permitted. Parking is available on site.

Saturday, October 22, 11AM-1PM

Join author Kat Davidson for children’s story time as she reads “Kira and Lulu Visit the Planets” and “Kira and Lulu Visit the Sun” followed with make and take crafts. Parents and grandparents are welcome to bring their children and grandchildren. No pets permitted. Parking is available on site.
