CONO Neighborhood Art Project
Art for your Neighborhood
In celebration of Arts Month 2022, the Council of Neighbors and Organizations (CONO) is partnering with the Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region to organize a program for neighbors to submit ideas for art projects in their neighborhood. The chosen project will be announced during National Neighbors Day on September 28, and then must be completed during October, as a part of Arts Month 2022.
CONO has selected three recipients for the Neighborhood Art Project stipend, and all three will receive a portion of the $500 to help complete their Arts Month projects! Here are the winning projects:
Saturday, October 8
Hillside Neighbors are throwing a block party and unveiling a commissioned art piece that will be hung in the community center. The artwork honors a long-time resident and advocate.
Saturday, October 15
Mesa Neighborhood is throwing a block party and hiring a band through Curbside Culture, and doing a sidewalk chalk art competition.
Saturday, October 29
Organization of Westside Neighbors (OWN) is yarn bombing Thorndale Park along 11 panels of the tennis court fence to create a 6 ft. rainbow-like installation.
